Job Roles in the Live Sound Industry

A front of house sound engineer controls what the audience can hear. They sit behind the mixing desk which is hooked up to everything.

A booking agent is responsible for booking live performances for their performers. This can include concerts and gigs to dj sets.

The promoter of a live event or an artist is somebody who would try to advertise the event as much as possible, so that artists/performers gain both prominence, as well as tickets etcetera.

Responsibilities of a light technician would involve setting up stage lights, as well as controlling them.

A lighting designer designs how the lights will be set up, how they will look and how they may operate during a live performance.

The artist would be the person/group who represent the songs/tracks that are being played. They may or may not be the performers, depending on the event.

The musicians are the ones who play the instruments
